Home So Cool is an independent home-comfort review site focused on two things that make everyday living easier: keeping your floors spotless and sleeping through the night without waking up hot or sore.
We publish buying guides, product breakdowns, and side-by-side comparisons of vacuums, floor-care tools, pillows, cushions, and cooling sleep gear. Our goal is to cut through marketing claims and give you the plain facts you need before you spend money.
Who We Are
We’re a small team of three writers who live and breathe home gear:
Marcus Reed focuses on floor care—vacuums for hardwood, carpet, tile, and cars, plus steam mops and shop vacs. If it picks up dirt or cleans a surface, Marcus has evaluated it.
Hannah Cole covers sleep comfort: cooling pillows, memory foam cushions, wedge pillows for reflux, and knee pillows for side sleepers. She researches what actually helps people sleep cooler and wake up without pain.
Olivia Grant writes our how-to guides and explains the specs that matter—HEPA filtration, suction power, foam density, cooling gel—so you know what to look for when comparing products.
We’re not a manufacturer. We don’t accept payment for favorable coverage. We earn a small commission when you buy through our Amazon links (see our Affiliate Disclaimer), but that never changes what we recommend.
What We Cover
Our site sits in two clusters:
Vacuums & Floor Care — cordless vacuums, robot vacuums, shop vacs, steam mops, and specialty tools for hardwood, tile, laminate, high-pile carpet, and stairs.
Sleep Comfort — cooling pillows, cervical pillows, wedge pillows, knee pillows, tailbone cushions, and mattress toppers that address heat, pain, and poor sleep posture.
We don’t cover every product category under the sun. We stick to what we know and what our readers ask about.
How We Work
We research products by reading hundreds of verified buyer reviews, comparing specs across brands, and identifying patterns—what works, what breaks, and what disappoints. We look for products with consistent praise for the features that matter (suction, runtime, cooling, support) and flag common complaints (short lifespan, poor customer service, misleading claims).
We don’t test every product in a lab. Instead, we synthesize real-world feedback, cross-reference manufacturer claims, and highlight which products deliver on their promises and which ones fall short.
